CFAS celebrates Chinese New Year every year and uses the opportunity to expose the community at large to Chinese arts and crafts through programming and festivities at both Chicago’s Navy Pier and The Adler Planetarium. It’s programming is an eclectic gathering of artists including musicians, calligraphers, martial artists and lion dancers. The Lion Dance is such an ubiquitous character during the celebrations and lent itself to be the perfect symbol for their New Years programs.
