Rhythms of China

Rhythms of China was a concert devoted to exposing the breadth of chinese music to the general population and was performed at Millennium Park’s Jay Pritzker Pavillion. The concert’s theme depicted the energy of the Chinese culture and the pieces chosen all had a celebratory spirit.  Most of the works combine traditional Chinese folk music with a modern-day perspective.

The hybrid nature of the musical selections led to an abstract/contemporary visual. The illustration utilized overlapping patterns in different combinations to generate a visual rhythm through a moiré pattern.
